In this role you will:
- Support the Head of Health and Safety, to deliver on Scania’s vision of becoming the best in class for our industry.
- Oversee the delivery of the Scania GB Health and Safety strategy, directly managing the Health and Safety Advisor.
- Deputise for the Head of Health & Safety, as and when required.
- Development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work for our core operational activities as well as our non-routine business.
- Monitoring of our accident & incident reporting system with investigations undertaken as required.
- Create weekly and monthly statistic reports, presenting your findings in the weekly health and safety update.
- Monitor existing and new contractors, including their conduct and credentials.
- Review, improve and create health and safety processes and systems of work.
- Consult and liaise with the workforce and senior management on H&S matters.
About you:
NEBOSH Diploma certified AND Chartered Member of IOSH
Leadership – a proven track record managing a team and influencing senior stakeholders, to deliver a countrywide Health and Safety strategy.
Organised – able to simultaneously handle multiple objectives, accurately tracking your key action points, seeing each point through to delivery.
Diligent – working with excellent attention to detail, in all that you do.
Confident communicator – able to clearly present and communicate changes, statistics, processes, and updates to stakeholders throughout our network.
IT literate – able to learn, manage and become the in-house expert across multiple internal health and safety systems.
Willing to travel – visiting and building relationships with the 40 plus branches throughout the UK network.
