Commodity Sourcing Manager

Are you ready to be at the forefront of change? Scania is a world leading provider of transport solutions operating in over 100 countries. We set out to drive the shift towards sustainable transport systems that is better for business, society and the environment.

We are seeking a commercially driven individual with a passion for business and a strong interest in staying close to technology. You are analytical, structured, and proactive, with a talent for managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Skilled at building relationships, you confidently represent procurement both internally and externally. Self-motivated and high in integrity, you are dedicated to supporting the team’s growth and success.

Who we are
We are a diverse team consisting of 7 team members with a mix of age, gender and nationalities working with parts in the Metal and Pipes group. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting and challenging each other to find best solutions for Scania. Forming a climate where competence as well as opinions are openly shared is important for us.

What You’ll Do
As a Commodity Sourcing Manager for Fasteners, you will play a key role in managing this product category in a global context, working with suppliers and sister brands primarily in Europe. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and manage the supplier base, creating and executing strategies that align both cross-functionally within Scania and across the Traton Group.
  • Take ownership of key performance targets, including cost savings, delivery precision, and sustainability, among others.
  • Lead and drive the collaborative efforts within the "3-ring" team, working closely with colleagues from project purchasing and supplier quality to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives. As the commodity purchaser, you will take the lead in developing and optimizing the work within this team.

In this role, you will play a central part in supporting both yourself and the team by managing overarching tasks and ensuring that our work processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify development opportunities, and collaborate closely with other departments to implement solutions that enhance productivity and the quality of our work.

Your profile
You take pride in your responsibilities and consistently deliver high-quality results on time. At Scania, we value openness and continuous improvement, so we seek someone with a positive attitude, eager to embrace new ways of working while constructively evaluating existing processes.

In a changing market, you should be self-reliant and comfortable in situations without clear processes. As a team player, your positive energy fosters collaboration and strengthens group cohesion. Your ability to prioritize and your analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset are key to success. Requirements:

  • Academic degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Several years of procurement experience in automotive or related industries.
  • Strong English skills (Swedish is a plus).

If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a global, forward-thinking organization, we’d love to hear from you!

Why Scania?
