Data Governance Lead - Enterprise Data Office (EDO)
Data Governance Lead – Enterprise Data Office (EDO)
Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.
Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.
Role Summary
Scania is stepping up how we work with data across the enterprise—and this role sits right at the center of that shift. As Data Governance Lead, you will shape and drive how we govern data across Scania: from defining ownership and decision-making to making sure standards actually work in practice.
This is not about theory—you will make governance real in the business. By bringing clarity to how data is owned, managed and used, you enable better decisions, less rework, and a stronger foundation for Scania’s transformation.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and lead Scania’s enterprise-wide data governance model.
- Define and drive how ownership, decision-making, standards and follow-up work across enterprise-critical data objects and domains.
- Establish clear ownership, accountability and decision paths across domains.
- Work closely with business and IT to connect governance with architecture and real operations.
- Drive alignment, communication and adoption with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Who You Are
You bring both structure and drive—you know how to turn complex topics into something clear, actionable and anchored in the business.
- You have solid experience within data governance, enterprise data and information architecture in a corporate setting.
- You’ve worked in complex, global or federated organizations and know how to navigate and influence at senior levels.
- You have built and implemented governance models, decision bodies and ways of working that are actually used.
- You communicate with clarity and confidence in English (Swedish proficiency is a plus).
- You combine structure, drive and pragmatism—with a strong focus on business impact and value.
This Is Us
The Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is a recently established group function reporting to the CFO, with a clear ambition: to make data a trusted and strategic asset at Scania. You will join a small team with group-wide mandate. Together, we are building something new, while setting the foundation for how Scania works with data going forward.
