Development Engineer Design

Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions. Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Job Responsibilities

•    You will be technically responsible for our assignments led by a Q-team leader in a cross-functional team which includes SQA and a production coordinator.
•    Act as a key player and technical lead in defining the issue, find the root cause and  implement a short-term action within 24h. Then develop, verify and implement a long-term solution.
•    Due to the varied nature of the tasks you will quickly build a broad network of contacts within the company.

Who You Are

We are seeking an individual who thrives in cross-functional environments. This person will have numerous points of contact, both within Scania and in the future across other brands within the TRATON Group. We are looking for someone who can inspire and engage others, and who is not afraid to take initiative.
The ideal candidate is engaged, self-driven, flexible , curious, and pragmatic. As generalists, we need someone with a solution-oriented mindset who can take responsibility for their work and drive solutions forward. While analytical skills are important, the ability to shift focus from details to the bigger picture and understand the context is crucial. The work allows you to be independent but requires responsibility and the ability to plan and prioritize as well as being a good communicator. You also have a genuine interest in Scania and its products.
This role also requires that:

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• You are a product engineer with a few years of experience in product development.
• You write and speak fluently in English.
