Role Summary

 

This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden

 

As part of our dynamic team, a Development Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving product development, optimizing processes, and ensuring that our technological advancements meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about leveraging their technical expertise to create impactful solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Test new products from concept to production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance
  • Develop and maintain project plans and timelines
  • Create detailed engineering documentation including specifications and test plans
  • Perform prototyping and testing to validate product concepts
  • Analyze and interpret data to drive decision making
  • Modify and improve existing products based on customer feedback and market trends
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development and production phases

 

As your help there are in the team and surrounding teams a broad experience and also a Design Guideline with i.e validation plans based on the experience collected through the years.

 

Who You Are

 

  • You have excellent communication and teamwork skills and a structured and proactive working style
  • Open-minded and interested in working in an international environment
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal and preferable also Swedish language skills
  • Strong interest in Engines and Vehicles
  • Your background is from engineering, most likely with a relevant mechanical engineering degree
  • You must be comfortable to work independently, and be able to quickly shift and pace as a working day may not turn out as planned

The Unit (group) is part of the Base Engine development and locally in Sweden consists of 8 employees.  In the Lubrication Team we have contact surfaces at other brands in the Traton group which we plan and develop new products together.
