Service Manager at Order to Delivery IT

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.

Do you have an agile approach and want to lead changes in a technology-driven company? Are you a skilled leader motivated by taking responsibility, creating clarity and structure, and engaging your team toward common goals? Then we have the position for you!

About the job

We are the department “Production and Logistics IT”. Our responsibility is to support Production & Logistics at Scania with IT services. Together we are setting the future IT landscape to support a global production system and cooperation within the Traton Group. The section Production IT serves as the backbone for digitalizing Production with some of our core IT deliveries. We offer an exciting environment where we are introducing a modern digital ecosystem throughout all our production sites. We are exchanging our core legacy production and logistics systems while helping P&L realize their business development needs. You will work in a large global company and be responsible for driving the development, as well as running and maintaining, core solutions in the Scania industrial IT landscape. You will be a key player in aligning business and IT, working toward common goals. You will actively coach the organization and drive our business-critical initiatives to success at Scania.

You will work as the Service Manager in one of our value stream teams (we have different value streams, and each has one service manager). In the value stream, you will be responsible for the entire delivery of the service to P&L, including development, maintenance, and support in a “you build it, you run it” way.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that Scania IT-related activities under your management are implemented with quality, according to the customer’s needs and Scania’s IT requirements.
  • In your management role, you ensure that system changes are planned and communicated, incidents are handled within the agreed timeframe, and action is taken to prevent future occurrences.
  • You work in line with Scania’s Software Development Process (SDP), which is based on lean thinking and agile practices.
  • You function as a leader for the individuals in your team, such as developers, software architects, and system administrators.
  • You also monitor the effectiveness of systems in your area and how well they are functioning in accordance with customer agreements regarding performance, user behavior, etc.

Responsibilites

  • Manage each value stream’s scope and roadmap
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
  • Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g., from customers or stakeholders)
  • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests
  • Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur
  • Help teams implement changes effectively
  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards
  • Help build a productive environment where team members “own” the product and enjoy working on it

Desired Qualifications

We believe you have the following formal competencies. You don’t have to check all the bullets below to fit in, but if you can, that’s a bonus:

  • A university degree in the relevant area
  • Experience in a service manager role or similar
  • Experience with agile software development
  • English - Proficient in writing and speech

You have good communication skills, work in an agile way, and strive to be a servant leader who empowers, motivates, and develops your teams. Your mindset is to support the business functions in the best way, and you are comfortable in a role that requires cooperation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution ability, and responsibility. You create a good working climate in the teams, stimulate innovation and creativity, and have the ability to lead people toward a common goal. You have organizational skills, are flexible, and have no prestige in finding the best solutions.

Other meritious skills:

  • Knowledge of agile frameworks such as SAFe
  • Knowledge of scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, and backlog refinement)
  • Previous work with industrial IT solutions
  • Swedish - Proficient in writing and speech
