Mining Key Account Manager

Role Summary

The main responsibility of the Mining Key Account Manager (KAM) is to manage strategic customers in the area of responsibility on Business Unit level. Maintain and develop relationships toward structured proactive partnerships with the objective of improving the Scania EBIT, together with optimized customer satisfaction and profitability, through sales and delivery of managed range. This is achieved by setting an overall strategy and plan for sales and deliveries for area specific customers, working proactively to explore business opportunities, monitoring and following-up results. By actively cooperating with sales, service, financing colleagues, strategic bodybuilders etc. as well as both captive and non-captive dealers and workshops in the market.

Plans and implements pursuit of strategic opportunities for a particular business or organization, for example, by cultivating partnerships or other commercial relationships, or identifying new markets for its products or services or new solutions for existing markets.

Job Responsibilities

Horizon Scanning

Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

Innovation Strategy, Pipeline, and Road Map

Provide the means (e.g., research, ideas, solutions) to prototype innovation business cases with the potential to shape the innovation strategy, pipeline, and road map.

Business Development

Monitor and assess sales and market data for a specific geographic region and produce reports that will assist management in formulating strategy and identifying areas in the market where business can be developed.

Customer Needs/Experience Research

Complete research and analyze data to develop and/or support a sound understanding of customer segments, trends, needs, and expectations.

Alliance Management

Develop prescribed solutions and generate new opportunities by maintaining relationships with partner organizations to ensure their smooth integration or a successful alliance execution.

Business Case

Manage the delivery of feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases.

Brand Positioning

Assist in achieving brand positioning and contribute ideas to brand plans.

Portfolio Management

Plan and deliver small projects or workstreams, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are achieved.

Business Planning

Contribute to the development of annual business plans; input to the development of business cases for key activities/projects and with estimating the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.

Promoting Customer Focus

Assist with the development of internal communications and work collaboratively with colleagues to build strong external customer relationships and meet customer needs.

Culture of Innovation

Promote a culture of innovation by creating solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.

Improvement/Innovation

Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then deliver a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.

Competencies

Business knowledge and relevant experience from a similar role an advantage.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level 6
