Real Estate Manager

Role Summary

The Real Estate Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting all real estate and facilities activities across local markets. The role requires regular regional travel and a hands-on, on-site operational approach. Candidates must research and understand Scania’s facilities and operational environment as part of their preparation.

Job Responsibilities

Real Estate & Facilities Management:

  • Manage and support Scania Real Estate Services projects at regional and local levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Scania policies, standards, and strategies.
  • Conduct physical inspections, on-site reviews, and operational follow-ups.
  • Undertake regular site visits to monitor property condition and contractor performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all real estate activities.

 

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Plan, execute, and monitor projects according to timelines and budgets.
  • Report progress, risks, and deviations.
  • Allocate and manage resources.
  • Start, stop, or pause projects when required.
  • Engage hands-on in operational tasks for correct implementation.

 

Security, Safety & Fire Compliance

  • Manage security, surveillance, and guarding providers.
  • Conduct on-site security and safety assessments.
  • Coordinate fire compliance activities aligned with Scania Global Policies.
  • Support corrective and preventative actions.

 

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement sustainability initiatives.
  • Identify operational improvements.
  • Train and support stakeholders on real estate standards and processes.

 

Required Travel & Work Approach

  • Frequent travel required across facilities and operational sites.
  • Hands-on work approach essential.

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Completed Matric.
  • Relevant qualification in Security, Safety, or Fire.
  • Managerial or leadership experience (advantageous).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Must research Scania’s facilities and operational environment prior to application/interview.
