Rentals Salesperson
Role Summary
To effectively market and sell Scania truck rentals in a professional capacity by establishing new business relationships and maintaining relationships with existing clientele as well as our new truck sales team regionally to meet all targets. To effectively build our brand by adhering to the company’s quality policy, protocols and systems.

- BUILD AND MAINTAIN NEW AND EXISTING CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

- This role includes travel to Scania dealerships, existing and new customers within the allocated region.
- Assisting with customer queries whilst maintaining and improving customer satisfaction.
- Cold calling on potential new customers.
- Reporting activities and leads daily, completing weekly sales reports and forecasting as and when required.
- Respond to enquiries and follow up.
- Be a team player and assist team.
- Attend meetings as and when required.
- Qualifying customers and leads.
- Ensuring completed credit application packs are submitted to the Deal Facilitation department timeously and as per the credit policy.
- Accurately processing customer quotations for their perusal.
- Ensure that all information required for quotations are gathered and pre-screening of customers done; when required spend time with the Rental Manager to assist with drafting quotations and strategizing deals.
- Strive to maximise utilization of fleet and profit margins.
- Ensure that all complete rental contract packs or release notes are sent to the Scania Rental Amin Team prior to the release of the vehicle (Including: Credit application with requested documentation/rental check list with approval from credit/quotation/proof of deposit and signed contract).
- When required assist with collection/delivery of licensing documentation.
- Assist with regards to the follow-up of payments on outstanding client accounts.
- Ensure that there is regular communication with customers regarding price increases, events, updates regarding trucks ect.
- Vehicle check in & out as and when necessary.
- Assist walk in customers and answer all customer phone calls.
- GENERAL
- Assist Rental Operations Team where necessary and have clear communication with them.
- Assist walk-in/telephonic customers with queries regarding the Rentals Process
- Maintaining good customer relationships, whilst being diplomatic during customer communication either verbal or written
Candidate Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Matric with maths and or accounting
- Minimum 3 years working experience in Sales, preferably in the transport sector.
- Related qualification in Sales/Marketing desirable
- Sales training desirable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office particularly excel (formulas, v lookup and pivot tables)
- In-house System and product knowledge
- Good communication skills and dealing with adversity.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and under pressure.
- Respect other Team members and work to the overall good of the department.
Special Conditions
- Code 8 Driver’s License
- Needs to be physically fit
