Join our Quality, Risk & Internal Compliance (QRIC) team and play a key role in strengthening risk management, business continuity and crisis preparedness across Scania Great Britain. Working with stakeholders at all levels, you'll drive a practical, business-led approach to identifying, managing and reporting risk, while embedding resilience into day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity to influence organisational decision-making, foster a risk-aware culture and help ensure the business remains resilient and prepared for disruption. You’ll support the development of robust risk and continuity frameworks, helping teams understand critical activities, dependencies and controls. If you enjoy building strong relationships, driving positive change and making a visible impact across a complex organisation, this role offers a unique opportunity to do so.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the embedding of risk management across the business, ensuring key risks are identified, understood and actively managed at both enterprise and operational levels.
  • Work with business teams to identify, assess and prioritise key risks, including cross-functional and systemic risks, ensuring appropriate escalation, visibility and action.
  • Support and challenge the business to ensure effective controls are in place and operating as intended, driving continuous improvement in control design and effectiveness.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), ensuring critical activities are understood, prioritised and supported.
  • Work with operational teams to define and embed practical, business-led continuity and recovery arrangements, focused on how teams would continue or resume operations during disruption (e.g. workarounds, alternative ways of working, use of people, sites or suppliers), rather than technical system recovery.
  • Ensure continuity and recovery arrangements are realistic, usable and aligned to how the business operates, with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Establish and embed a clear and effective crisis management approach, ensuring the organisation is prepared to respond to, manage and recover from incidents and disruptions.
  • Support and, where required, advise during live incidents or crises, helping ensure structured, coordinated and effective responses.
  • Embed resilience into business processes, ensuring teams understand what their critical activities are, what they depend on, where vulnerabilities and single points of failure exist and how they would continue or adapt in practice during disruption.
  • Ensure all risk, resilience and crisis activity is delivered in line with internal policies, standards and governance frameworks.
  • Provide clear, practical guidance and insight that enables people at all levels to understand risk and resilience and take ownership of managing them effectively.

About you:
•      Attention to detail – working with excellent attention to detail in all you do

  • Organised – working to tight deadlines and helping the team to forward plan
  • Pro-active – always reviewing and looking to improve current processes
  • Team spirited – positive attitude, supporting colleagues and a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication – comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels verbally and in writing and able to simplify complex concepts into clear, relevant and easy-to-understand messages
  • Business Focus – strong experience in risk, resilience or operational roles, with a practical understanding of how a business operates day-to-day
  • Flexible – ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Influence – confident influencing and challenging constructively to drive the right outcomes
  • Collaboration – builds strong relationships and works effectively across teams and functions
  • Respect – demonstrate kindness, respect and professionalism in all interactions
  • Ownership – proactive, organised and accountable, driving actions through to completion.
  • Qualifications – relevant qualifications in risk, business continuity or resilience are desirable but not essential, with equal weight placed on practical experience.

A Quote from Becky Goodman, our Head of Quality, Risk & Internal Compliance (QRIC)

“This is an exciting but important point in our journey as a team. We’ve built some strong foundations across risk, resilience and controls but we are continuing to evolve and strengthen how we operate and embed consistently strong ways of working across the business. We’re looking for someone proactive, collaborative and willing to embrace that challenge — someone who can help turn frameworks into practical, day-to-day reality. In this role, you’ll work across multiple functions and areas of the business, building a deep understanding of how we operate and helping us identify risks, opportunities and dependencies from a truly holistic perspective. It’s a great opportunity to shape how we do things going forward and make a genuine, lasting impact on the organisation”.
