Cable Design Engineer for bus chassis

Role Summary
As a Cable Routing Design Engineer, you will develop and integrate cable harness routing and installation solutions for Scania buses using CATIA. You will work closely with the physical product throughout the development process, translating electrical and functional requirements into robust, serviceable and production-ready solutions.
You will be part of a professional engineering environment where quality, structure and collaboration are key. Working closely with electrical architects, installation engineers and other cross-functional stakeholders, your work will directly contribute to the complete bus and its customer value.
Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing electrical routing and cable harness installation solutions for Scania bus chassis using CATIA, including the mechanical design of brackets and component installations related to electrical systems.
- Collaborating closely with electrical architects, installation engineers and other cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product development process.
- Contributing to robust, cost-efficient, serviceable and production-ready solutions for Scania bus chassis.
- Taking part in continuous improvement activities and contributing to more efficient ways of working within the team and the wider organization.
Who You Are
You are a structured and quality-oriented engineer with an interest in vehicle development, mechanical installation and electrical systems. You enjoy working close to the product, take ownership of your deliveries and understand how your work contributes to the complete vehicle.
You communicate clearly in English, collaborate naturally with others and are motivated by continuous development – both of yourself and of the product.
We believe you have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar field.
- Experience, or a clear professional focus, within electrical routing, cable harness installation, component installation, mechanical design for electrical systems and/or electrical schematics and cable harness design.
- Experience working with CATIA for electrical routing and/or mechanical design.
- Experience with electrical schematic and harness design tools, such as SABER, Capital or equivalent. This is not required but is considered an advantage.
- Experience from Scania or a similar automotive or heavy-vehicle development environment. This is considered a strong advantage.
The primary target group is engineers with some years of relevant experience who can work independently within their area while contributing actively to the team.
At the same time, driven early-career engineers and recent graduates with the right educational background, strong technical understanding and a clear ambition to develop within cable routing and vehicle installation may also be considered.
