Electrical Engineer - HW & Cable Harness Design (Pilot Partner)
Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.
Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.
Role Summary
You will take design lead and be responsible for the electrics in our projects and products regarding electrification in our Pilot Partner projects. It means close cross-functional collaboration with other areas such as mechanical design, production, workshop, testing, market and purchasing.
As an electrical designer at Pilot Partner, you need to analyse customer requests and break them down into actions. Usually, this means defining and reusing electric parts and cable harnesses from the existing Scania modular system and/or writing hardware specifications, designing new circuit diagrams, cable harnesses, cable routings, and mounting instructions. You’ll verify the design during test assembly together with production. Perform functionality and hardware test by yourself or with the support from our testing departments initiated by you.
Job Responsibilities
- You have an academic education at university level (Bachelor or Master) within electrical, mechatronic, or automotive engineering.
- You have experience in 3D-modeling in CatiaV5.
- You have experience in 2D-modeling in Saber ESD and/or Capital.
- You have experience in electric hardware and components design and testing.
- You have previous working experience of more than 5 years in R&D at Scania.
- Work experience from the automotive industry as a design engineer or from a relevant cross-functional area.
- Professional fluency in English is required, fluency in Swedish is beneficial.
- Driver’s license for a car.
Who You Are
You prefer to be a generalist rather than a specialist and enjoy having several ongoing tasks with short deadlines. You need to have high stress tolerance, high work capability and like to work at a fast pace.
You are sociable and a team player but also capable of working independently and taking the initiative. You’re not afraid to break new ground, making mistakes and learn from them. You can organize and plan both for your own and others’ deliveries. You are a team player with leadership skills.
