Export Control Manager
Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions. Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.
Role Summary
Are you passionate about global politics, regulations, and technology? Do you thrive in a role where compliance is key? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We are looking for an Export Control Manager to join our team. Export control plays a crucial role in Scania’s global operations, ensuring compliance with international laws and regulations. Our commitment to following export laws in every country where we operate is embedded in our Code of Conduct and has been a key factor in our success. As global regulations evolve, maintaining compliance remains essential.
Different business units (BUs) manage various aspects of export control. Within R&D, our main responsibilities include export control classification and training. We work closely with colleagues in purchasing, central export control, and other business units to ensure compliance across Scania.
Job Responsibilities
Export Control at R&D is an integral part of Scania’s Export Control System, supporting the entire R&D BID organization in meeting compliance requirements.
As an Export Control Manager, you will coordinate export control activities within R&D, ensuring that processes and procedures align with legal requirements. You will also provide expert guidance when needed, helping to navigate the complexities of export control regulations.
Who You Are
• You are proactive and take initiative to solve problems, drive results, and share your expertise in export control.
• You are engaged, structured, and act with integrity.
• You have experience in product development and are familiar with Scania’s products, R&D organization, services, and solutions—or similar industries.
• You can work at both a strategic level and dive into details when necessary, with strong analytical skills.
• You are a team player who collaborates effectively but can also work independently.
• You enjoy tackling complex regulatory questions in a structured way and take pride in supporting and educating colleagues.
• You are fluent in English (both written and spoken), and Swedish is also required.
• You have a higher education degree and a few years of relevant professional experience.
You are eager to learn about export control laws and regulations in Sweden, Europe, the US, and China. You will have the opportunity to attend specialized export control training both in Sweden and across Europe.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.
This Is Us
We are a dedicated team working closely with our network of Export Control Ambassadors (ECA) across Scania and within the R&D BID organization. Together, we support various product development projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency in export control.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of inspiring and engaged colleagues, all committed to coordinating internal and external standardization efforts. We foster a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone contributes actively. As a new team member, you will receive full support from your colleagues to help you succeed in your role.
