Role Summary

Are you passionate about global politics, regulations, and technology? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where compliance plays a crucial role? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Export control is vital to Scania’s global operations, ensuring compliance with international laws and regulations. It is embedded in our Code of Conduct and has been a key factor in our success. As global regulations evolve, export control remains essential to our business.

At Scania, different business units (BUs) oversee various aspects of export control. Within R&D, our primary responsibilities include export control classification and training. We collaborate closely with colleagues in purchasing, central export control, and other business units to ensure compliance across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Export Control at R&D is an integral part of Scania’s Export Control System, ensuring compliance across the entire R&D BID organization. Our role is to provide expert support on export control matters, helping to secure regulatory adherence.

As an Export Control Officer, you will coordinate export control efforts within Scania R&D and the BID organization. You will also collaborate with Export Control Officers from other business units across Scania, working together to maintain compliance.

Your expertise will be essential in guiding export control processes, covering both product-related and process-related aspects. You will work closely with the Export Control Manager (ECM) and other key stakeholders to ensure best practices are followed throughout the organization.

Who You Are

•    You are proactive and take initiative to deliver results, solve problems, and share your expertise in export control.
•    As a person, you are engaged, structured, and act with integrity.
•    You have experience in product development and are familiar with Scania’s products, R&D organization, services, and solutions—or similar industries.
•    You have previous experience working with export control and understand its regulations and processes.
•    You can work at both a strategic level and dive into details when needed, with strong analytical skills.
•    You are a team player who collaborates effectively with others but can also work independently.
•    You enjoy tackling complex issues in a structured way and take pride in supporting and educating colleagues.
•    You thrive in a multicultural environment and are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is also required.
•    You have a higher education degree and a few years of relevant professional experience.

You are eager to learn about export control laws and regulations in Sweden, Europe, the US, and China. You will have the opportunity to attend specialized export control training both in Sweden and across Europe.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.

This Is Us

We are a dedicated team working closely with our network of Export Control Ambassadors (ECA) across Scania and within the R&D BID organization. Together, we support various product development projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency in export control.

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of inspiring and engaged colleagues, all committed to coordinating internal and external standardization efforts. We foster a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone contributes actively. As a new team member, you will receive full support from your colleagues to help you succeed in your role.
