This Is Us

The Finance IT team at Scania is dedicated to creating efficient and data-driven financial flows through fit-for-purpose IT solutions. To achieve this, business and IT work closely together with inclusivity at all levels of the organization. A key component of our transformation journey is a skilled and professional team. We are looking for a solution-oriented architect who thrives on integrating people and technology to achieve optimal results. This role also offers opportunities for personal development in a technology-intensive global company.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Functional Architect to join our  IT team and help shape the future of the financial domain at Scania. In this role, you will work closely with both business stakeholders and IT teams to identify and implement the best-fit solutions for supporting the Record to Report (R2R) processes. At Scania, our focus is on applying the best available solutions to meet business needs, using fit for purpose IT solutions. Your role will be to help evolve the Finance IT landscape by selecting and  designing solutions that support our business processes efficiently, with a focus on flexibility, scalability, and long-term value.

We are currently in a transformation process harmonizing our legacy IT landscape with SAP S/4 and D365 in our target architecture. While we are not working directly with these platforms, we have close collaboration with the teams that do.

As a Functional Architect, you will collaborate closely with our business colleagues, other architects, and IT teams to ensure that the Finance domain’s needs are met through well-designed, future proof solutions. Your primary focus will be to apply your knowledge of the finance domain to support the Record to Report processes.

Key tasks include:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their requirements for Record to Report (R2R) processes and identifying appropriate IT solutions to meet these needs.
  • Evaluating and recommending market solutions and new technology that best fit the evolving needs of the Finance domain, ensuring they support business objectives effectively.
  • Designing  and applying these solutions to improve business processes, with a focus on delivering scalable, efficient, and adaptable solutions.
  • Ensuring that IT systems align with company-wide architecture principles and guidelines, and maintaining consistency across projects.
  • Driving the continuous improvement and evolution of the Finance IT landscape, ensuring that the solutions in place remain relevant and capable of supporting future business needs.

Who You Are

We are looking for a professional who combines a strong understanding of Finance processes, particularly Record to Report (R2R), with experience in selecting and applying IT solutions and new technologies that support those processes.

You should have:

  • In-depth knowledge of Record to Report (R2R) processes, including the financial closing process, reporting, and consolidation.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders to define requirements and identify solutions that meet business needs.
  • Strong experience in evaluating and selecting IT solutions, both market solutions and new technologies, ensuring that they provide long-term value and align with business goals.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business and IT teams to apply solutions that enhance business processes.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate discussions, align stakeholders, and ensure solutions are well-understood across teams.
  • Experience working with both standardized IT systems and custom solutions, with the ability to integrate various systems into a coherent architecture.

Meritorious experience:

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana or other leading Finance systems.
  • Knowledge of Investment/Asset Accounting
