We are seeking a skilled Siemens PLC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in programming Siemens PLCs and be proficient in all relevant programming languages. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining PLC programs to ensure efficient and reliable operation of our automated systems.

About us

Our operation, Scania Engine Assembly, assembles, tests, and paints engines for Scania's global production. We are currently about 1200 people and face exciting challenges ahead with the introduction of new engine types in various markets and with new environmental requirements. We need to expand our automation knowledge, and we are therefore looking for you who want an exciting job in a dynamic production environment.

 

Our team

You will be part of a team with nine other experienced process engineers. Our mix of experience and background gives us very good conditions for development and exchange. As a manager, I focus on close collaboration, supporting each other, and helping each other to achieve our personal goals. For us, openness, humility, and having fun at work are important. In addition to regular weekly check-ins with your manager, you will also have a mentor in the group who will provide daily support.


Our team supports with production technical knowledge in Automation, Process verification, Data analysis and Balance to the whole assembly of Scania's engines within TRATON.
 

Tasks

Your tasks will be varied with a focus on Automation and PLC programming. Creating conditions for our whole assembly process.


You will:

  • Design, develop, and implement PLC programs using Siemens software and engaged in cross-functional problem-solving to address production challenges and optimize processes. This includes troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PLC programming and automation. 
  • Be involved in new projects to develop and document detailed specifications for production equipment and automation systems. 
  • Ensure that detailed requirements for PLC are clearly defined and communicated to relevant stakeholders

 

To support one of Scanias core values, Continuous Improvement, you will participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing production efficiency and quality. This involves changes in PLC programming to optimizing our assembly processes and implementing innovative solutions to improve overall performance.


Our collaboration with our colleagues in Brazil, China and within the TRATON team will also be a part of your work. To share best practices and implement improvements across the global production network.
