Role Summary

As Legal Counsel at TRATON Financial Services, you will play a key role in enabling the business through trusted legal advice and strategic partnership. Working closely with the General Counsel, you will provide legal guidance across the organization and help navigate the complex legal and regulatory landscape that supports TRATON Financial Services’ continued international expansion.

You will be part of a highly collaborative legal team with broad exposure across the TRATON Group. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will work closely with colleagues across Group Legal, the TFS organization and senior stakeholders across functions, markets and jurisdictions. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute both operationally and strategically in a truly international business environment, while helping shape and develop the legal function going forward.

While our head office is located in Södertälje, this role will primarily be based at our new office in Östermalm. The position requires flexibility to work from Södertälje on a regular basis to ensure close collaboration with key stakeholders.

In this role, you will combine hands-on legal work with strategic advisory responsibilities in a dynamic international setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing corporate legal support to more than 80 legal entities across 50+ countries, including M&A transactions, restructurings and organizational changes
  • Advising on legal and strategic matters in cross-functional and international projects, including legal risk assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements and legal documentation
  • Managing corporate law matters for the Swedish Head Office, including related paralegal administration such as notarizations and apostilles
  • Supporting the development and implementation of financial services products and business initiatives
  • Advising on a broad range of legal matters, including outsourcing arrangements, service level agreements and IT-related agreements, in close collaboration with stakeholders across international markets and business functions
  • Contributing to the continued development of the legal function, including processes, governance, tools, training initiatives and ways of working
  • Acting as a trusted legal advisor to the business by balancing legal risk with commercial objectives

Who You Are

To thrive in this role, you bring a strong combination of legal expertise, commercial judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across an international organization. We believe you have:

  • Law degree and approximately 5–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within corporate law and M&A
  • Experience from an international law firm and/or an in-house legal function
  • Experience from financial services, banking or other regulated industries is considered a strong advantage
  • Comfortable navigating complex legal matters in a practical and solution-oriented manner
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across functions, geographies and seniority levels
  • Proactive and confident operating independently in a fast-paced international environment
