At the Commercial AI and Data Office at Scania Sales & Marketing, we have four missions; The first one is to provide a common Data and AI foundation for Scania from a commercial perspective, driving data standardization, navigating laws and regulations, setting best practices and way of working with our AI architectures and the Data Mesh. The second is to accelerate Data, Analytics and AI adoption across the Scania business by building and operating AI and Data solutions. The third mission is to drive the transformation of Scania into an AI and Data-driven company, giving expertise and hands-on support in generating business insights. Finally, we have a fourth mission, which is to structure, quality assure and automate our Master Data cross Scania, for optimized and aligned analytical utilization.
Now, we are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Commercial AI and Analytics team.

A day in your life with us
You’ll be a vital part of the transformation of Scania Retail into a more data-driven company by ensuring that data and insights become a natural part of the organizational workflow and impact present and future decisions on business and product strategy.
This means:
- Generate actionable insights to help your stakeholders make better-informed decisions
- Design, Prototype and Implement models; work with the Data Engineering team to deliver models to production.
- Partner with teams to identify and explore opportunities for the application of machine learning and LLMs.
- Influence across disciplines and teams to ensure we are making data-driven decisions and solving critical problems for our customers.
- Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences and contribute as a team player.
- Mentor others and stay current with advances in the industry.
- Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.
Qualifications
We would love to talk with you if you recognize yourself in some of the following:
- 3+ years of experience in applying machine learning in an industrial setting, with a track record of delivering impactful results.
- Master’s in computer science, Statistics, physics, or a related field
- Expertise in machine learning algorithms and frameworks, with hands-on experience in training, tuning, and deploying models in production environments.
- Strong understanding of MLops and possess hands-on experience in implementing MLops practices.
- Excellent software design and development skills in Python
- Experience in one or more of the following applied fields: Recommendations, Personalization, Long-term Reward Modeling, Bandits, Transformers, Large-Scale Language Models, LLM evaluation
- Great interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication

You are a team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers and loves sharing knowledge with other Data scientists, - Scientists & - Engineers and coworkers across the globe. Understanding a business problem and applying advanced analytics to try and solve it is one of your passions.
When approaching a problem you can be hypothesis-driven, and you love (data) storytelling and use visualization of data to explain facts. Furthermore, you proactively manage relevant stakeholders and/or teams to drive an intended outcome and on top of that, you are curious, self-directed and want to keep learning!
