Role Summary

As a Platform Architect, you will shape Scania’s automation landscape—designing scalable platforms, selecting cutting-edge tools, and ensuring secure, compliant solutions. You’ll collaborate across business units, IT, and leadership to drive automation initiatives and best practices. Your work will be at the forefront of digitalization, making automation a key enabler of efficiency and innovation. 

• SaaS & Integration – REST APIs, Webhooks, OAuth2 

• Cloud Platforms – AWS, Azure 

• IT Infrastructure – Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory 

• Networking & Security – DNS, SSL/TLS, VPN, IAM, RBAC 

• API & Integration – REST, SOAP, GraphQL, Kafka 

• Scripting & DevOps – PowerShell, Python, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes 

• Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible 

Job Responsibilities

• Architect Scalable Automation Platforms – Design and implement robust, enterprise-wide automation solutions that align with company-wide IT principles. 

• Lead Automation Strategy & Tooling – Evaluate and select the best technologies (RPA, workflow engines, low-code platforms) while defining architecture standards. 

• Drive Integration & API Strategy – Enable seamless connectivity between automation tools and enterprise systems (ERPs, CRMs, custom apps) using REST, GraphQL, Kafka, and event-driven architectures. 

• Ensure Security & Compliance – Embed security best practices, data privacy, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) in all automation initiatives. 

• Establish Governance & Best Practices – Define reusable components, automation design principles, and performance guidelines to drive standardization and efficiency.

IXB is Scania’s central Process Automation team, driving digital transformation across the company and the Traton Group. We enable smart automation solutions that create real business value, accelerating Scania’s shift towards sustainable transport. The group consists of 8 people; 6 sitting in Södertälje and 2 in India and we are split in distinct roles.
