Within the section, we develop Battery and Electrification Management Systems for Scania and other Traton brand trucks, busses and power solutions, organised in several teams with different competencies and areas of responsibility.

 

We have open positions for software development engineers, scrum master, product owner, safety engineer and safety manager.

Now we are looking for a team member specifically taking on the role as Product Owner for Charging control that among other things manage the high voltage charging of the vehicle.

 

What a typical day may look like 

  • You start at the espresso machine talking to a colleague about yesterday's test result in the interoperability test.
  • To be followed by the scrum meeting, where you pick news regarding tasks related to  new module and a couple of reviews.
  • After a discussion with the colleagues in USA and Germany, you update the feature list and talk to the Release Train Engineer.
  • As Product Owner you update and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Then after the joint lunch, you test the new functionality in the vehicle on the test track.
  • In the meeting with the cross functional teams, you discuss some of the data from the resent test expedition resulting in the tweaking of an algorithm.
  • At the end of the day by joining the our run club nearby the Scania health centre and returning home with the Scania express bus.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for the embedded systems control application.
  • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements.
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they are well-understood by the development team.
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams, to ensure product alignment and delivery.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the product, addressing questions and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Produce the necessary documentation, especially regarding functional specifications, requirements and safety.

Skills & Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, software engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Expert knowledge of C/C++, Matlab/Simulink and RTOS (real-time operating system).
  • Experience in Embedded software development for vehicle/powertrain applications.
  • Experience in an agile development environment and experience using tools such as JIRA and GIT.
  • Experience in automotive applications, standards, and CAN bus vehicle standard.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in the software development industry, preferably with a focus on embedded systems.
