Product owner - finance analytics

Role Summary

The Product Owner will be part of UFF – Finance Process Development, which is responsible for commercial financial processes, central analytics and finance-related digital development.The role will own the business side of finance BI, analytics, automation and AI tools used mainly by finance and accounting. This includes owning the product roadmap, managing the backlog, prioritizing business demands, and ensuring that development delivers real business value.

 

The Product Owner will work closely with finance stakeholders, global process owners, senior business developers, data analysts and IT. The role will act as the bridge between business and IT, making sure that finance needs are clearly understood, prioritized and translated into practical solutions.The role will also drive the development of automation and AI use cases within finance, helping the organization reduce manual work, improve data quality, increase self-service analytics and support more data-driven decision-making.The position is important for Scania’s transformation journey towards more standardized, automated and insight-driven finance processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of BI, analytics and data-driven ways of working.
  • Ability to act as Product Owner for finance BI and analytics tools, including roadmap, backlog, prioritization, stakeholder alignment and business value realization.
  • Good technical understanding of BI platforms, data models, dashboards, reports, KPIs, data quality, access management and system dependencies.
  • Ability to work closely with IT teams and translate business needs into user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Understanding of automation and AI opportunities in finance processes and ability to identify practical use cases.
  • Finance understanding is needed, but the person does not need to be a finance specialist.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including ability to work with global stakeholders at different seniority levels and with different backgrounds.
  • Structured, analytical and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Curious about technology, automation, AI and future ways of working.
  • Ability to drive change and adoption of new tools and ways of working.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is an advantage but not required. 

Who You Are

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: BI and analytics, product ownership, data products, finance systems, business intelligence platforms, digital transformation, automation, AI enablement, or business development.
  • Experience working with IT delivery teams, managing product roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs, and translating business needs into clear requirements is required.
  • Experience from finance, accounting, controlling, procurement, commercial finance, or performance management is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in a global or multi-stakeholder environment is preferred.
