Project Sourcing Manager - Powertrain Procurement

Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions. Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager to Project Powertrain Procurement, who is part of Scania's work to deliver sustainable transport solutions.

Role Summary
You manage the journey of your specific parts in the Product Development Projects, from early project preparation until successful implementation into production, not only for Scania but for the entire Traton Group. Working as a Sourcing Manager in Project Procurement means that you:

  • Have the commercial responsibility within development projects for Scania and the Traton Group.
  • Represent Scania Procurement in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, production, marketing, and external suppliers.
  • Manage and coordinate technical discussions between Scania R&D and suppliers, to ensure suppliers meet technical specifications and maintain cost-effective sourcing.
  • Set strategies for segments and suppliers, and review technical documentation from a commercial perspective.
  • Work closely with colleagues within the Traton Group procurement organizations.
  • Drive requests for quotations, negotiations, and present results and recommendations.
  • Working with a global supplier base.

Who You are
We are seeking someone with around 2-3 years of procurement or commercial experience, passionate about business and technical development. To succeed, you should be results-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple assignments in a structured way. The role requires long-term thinking, proactive improvement of operations, and supporting colleagues effectively. You should be independent, initiative-driven, and willing to go beyond your responsibilities for sustainable results. A positive attitude and team spirit are important, even in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves international networking and travel, requiring advanced English skills, with Swedish knowledge and a category B driver's license as advantages.

This Is Us
We are a diverse team with employees of different backgrounds, ages, genders, and nationalities. While we each have our own responsibilities, we support each other and share experiences to find the best solutions. We foster a climate where skills and opinions are openly shared and respected, aiming to have fun at work. The team is based at Scania's procurement office in Södertälje, in a modern open-plan office with various workspaces. There is flexibility to work from home on certain days or from our Office Hubs in Stockholm and Södertälje.

Scania offers
We offer a dynamic, flexible workplace with hybrid work options, including Scania Sergel and Midway hubs. With a structured development plan and courses, Scania supports your career growth both locally and internationally.

Benefits include training at our health center Gröndal or wellness allowance, result bonus, flexible hours, and company car leasing. Scania also hosts events for employees and their families, and Stockholm residents enjoy direct access to Södertälje via Scania Job express buses.
