Safety Architect

Role Summary

 

We are looking for an experienced Safety Architect who will actively contribute to the safety work at Scania BID and TRATON Group R&D.

 

In this role, you will be delegated to the VCT EE Architecture as a Safety Architect, ensuring sufficient capacity and effective prioritisation of safety-related topics. You will help shape the safety culture and collaborate with colleagues in system development, testing, processes and methods to develop safe products with outstanding quality and customer value.

Job Responsibilities

 

As a Safety Architect, you will contribute to the development and review of safety concepts for electrical and electronic systems and components. You will work across organisational and technical boundaries and support the organisation in applying functional safety principles throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Reviewing safety work products such as HARA, FMEA, Functional Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Concepts
  • Providing guidance and coaching on Functional Safety and related safety topics
  • Supporting the development of safe EE systems and components from concept development through customer release and operation
  • Collaborating with system development, testing, process and methods teams in an international and cross-functional environment
  • Contributing to the definition and continuous improvement of safety methods, processes and guardrails
  • Supporting the prioritisation and coordination of safety-related topics between Scania BID and TRATON Group R&D
  • Performing independent reviews of safety artefacts and communicating findings clearly to relevant stakeholders

Who You Are

 

We are looking for a candidate with:

 

  • A solid technical foundation and a relevant university education
  • Several years of experience in Functional Safety and safety engineering
  • Good knowledge of ISO 26262, Safety of the Intended Functionality (SoTIF) and other relevant standards
  • Experience developing or reviewing EE systems and components
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A highly motivated and structured way of working
  • The ability to cooperate effectively in an international and diverse environment
  • Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Swedish and/or German is an advantage
  • Experience working in an international, cross-functional context within an agile organisation
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence

You will be part of Scania’s Brand Identity team and support the EE Architecture Flow within the global development organisation.

The VCT EE Architecture team consists of highly experienced and motivated Safety Architects with diverse technical and professional backgrounds. The team works with safety across areas including the base vehicle, e-mobility, automation and connectivity.

The team performs independent reviews of safety artefacts, coaches the organisation on safety-related topics and contributes to defining guardrails for safe product development across TRATON. As a delegated Safety Architect, you will work closely with the team while maintaining a strong connection to Scania BID and its priorities.
