Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and driven Scrum Master to support our cross-functional teams working on the development of powertrain and aftertreatment control systems. In this role, you will enable effective Agile ways of working, remove impediments, coach teams in continuous improvement, and ensure smooth collaboration between developers, testers, and other stakeholders.
You will play a key role in securing high-quality deliveries, strengthening team performance, and driving operational excellence within R&D.
Job Responsibilities
Your typical responsibilities include:
Agile Facilitation & Delivery Support
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure clear sprint goals, refined backlogs, and structured planning together with Product Owners and technical leads.
- Support teams in breaking down work, improving flow, and adopting efficient Agile practices tailored to embedded software and system development.
- Track and visualize team progress, risks, and blockers using Jira and other tools.
- Promote transparency, alignment, and high-quality communication across team members and stakeholders.
Team Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Coach team members in Agile mindset, collaboration, planning, and self-organization.
- Identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives within and across teams.
- Remove impediments that slow down development or testing activities.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and structured problem-solving.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Enable smooth collaboration between software developers, test engineers, architects, and system owners.
- Support alignment with competence groups, test managers, and release owners regarding priorities, requirements, and scope.
- Coordinate dependencies and ensure the team is prepared for system tests, integrations, and release deliveries.
- Ensure readiness of team activities ahead of milestones such as PVE, feature freezes, and system validation.
Authority
- Facilitate and adapt team processes to ensure effective delivery flow.
- Escalate blockers, risks, and issues that impact delivery or team performance.
- Drive alignment between team, Product Owner, and test/technical managers.
- Support the team in making informed decisions that improve delivery quality and predictability.
Who You Are
You are a people-oriented and structured professional who thrives in dynamic technical environments. You enjoy enabling teams to succeed, solving organizational challenges, and building clear, collaborative ways of working.
We believe you have:
- Experience working as a Scrum Master or Agile Leader in software, embedded systems, or automotive R&D.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and practical experience applying them in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with Jira, backlog refinement, sprint metrics, and team performance tracking.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and guide teams toward continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in English (Swedish is a plus).
- Experience in TRATON or other automotive R&D organizations is considered a strong merit.
