Segment Sales Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in the Power Generation industry. In this role, you will drive the growth of Scania's engine business within the segment by building and strengthening long-term partnerships with global OEMs, system integrators, Scania distributors, and other key stakeholders across the power generation value chain.

You will lead strategic business development activities, negotiate and secure long-term agreements, identify new market opportunities, and drive sustainable profitable growth through strong customer engagement and industry expertise.

As Segment Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Power Solutions' future business strategy, market position, and growth ambitions within the global Power Generation segment.

Job Responsibilities

The person in this role will be responsible for driving business development within the Power Generation segment as a Segment Sales Manager, translating Scania’s solution strategies into actionable and executable business plans. The individual will coordinate and align activities across functions, markets, and stakeholders to secure successful execution of the segment strategy. The role requires a strategic, customer-focused, and results-oriented professional who can translate long-term commercial objectives into tangible business outcomes and sustainable growth. For the right candidate the role can also include a lead of the segment.

 

Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders across functions to drive segment priorities and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships both internally (R&D, Power Solutions, Segment Sales, and other key functions) and externally (customers, OEM, partners, and distributors).
  • Coordinate and lead international cross-functional project teams to deliver prioritized growth initiatives and strategic objectives.
  •  For right candidate act as the segment team lead, facilitating alignment, collaboration, and execution across the segment without direct people management responsibility.

 

Sales

  • Oversee sales growth activities and ensure proper prioritization.
  • Develop and execute a strong sales strategy aligned with segment goals.
  • Identify and engage with new OEMs and manage transitions at existing ones.
  • Drive revenue and profitability growth within the assigned segment.
  • Ensure financial targets are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • Hold business responsibility for volume, profitability, and growth within the designated segment and markets.

  • A proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and international teams in complex business environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong track record of conducting negotiations at senior executive levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing sales strategies and driving complex, long-term commercial projects from concept to execution.
  • A solid technical understanding and the ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling customer value propositions and profitable business opportunities.

 

Work Experience Requirements

 

  • A strong understanding of the Power Generation market, its applications, customers, and value chain. Experience from the industry is highly desirable and will enable the successful candidate to create impact and value from day one.
  • At least five years of experience in commercial roles involving technical products, solutions, or services.
  • At least five years of experience in relevant industry positions with strategic commercial responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success in leading long-term commercial initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in senior-level negotiations and complex commercial agreements.

Language Requirements

 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Additional language skills are considered an advantage.
