Role Summary
This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden
As a Software Developer within Product Communication, you will join Team Lynx, part of SWS (Scania Workshop Suite) — a digital workshop platform used today in Scania’s workshop environment and evolving towards TWS, The Workshop Suite for TRATON, with the ambition to support workshop services across the entire TRATON Group.
Team Lynx is responsible for the Product Communication layer within SWS, a critical technical domain that enables communication between workshop tools and vehicles. This layer serves as the foundation that other teams and services build upon to create functionality used daily by workshop technicians.
In this role, you will work close to both cloud-based services and vehicle-facing systems, enabling everything from diagnostics and data retrieval to software updates and vehicle operations. The work combines backend development, cloud technologies, APIs, distributed systems and vehicle communication in a technically complex but highly tangible environment where solutions are tested in real workshop setups, rigs and on actual vehicles.
You will contribute to building stable, secure and scalable solutions that support the future of workshop services across the TRATON Group.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs within the Product Communication domain
- Build robust and scalable solutions using C#/.NET and AWS
- Enable reliable communication between workshop systems and vehicles
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical flows across distributed systems
- Contribute to the evolution of SWS towards TWS for the wider TRATON organization
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers and adjacent teams across SWS
- Improve system stability, observability and long-term maintainability
- Participate in agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the development of shared technical capabilities that other teams build upon
- Contribute to testing and validation in cloud environments, rigs and real vehicles
Who You Are
We believe you are a collaborative and curious software developer with experience in modern backend development and a strong interest in solving complex technical problems. You enjoy understanding how systems work end-to-end and thrive in environments where multiple technologies and dependencies meet.
You likely have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience and have demonstrated the ability to contribute successfully in previous roles. We are open to both mid-level and more senior profiles, and value attitude, learning ability and long-term potential just as highly as previous domain experience.
You have experience with backend development in C#/.NET, cloud platforms such as AWS, APIs and distributed systems. You are comfortable troubleshooting complex flows and enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment where communication, knowledge sharing and teamwork are essential.
You are comfortable taking initiative, but you also understand the importance of staying aligned with the team, PO and Scrum Master. We value people who bring new ideas, challenge existing ways of working constructively and help turn improvements into concrete progress together with the team.
Experience within automotive, vehicle communication, IoT, microservices, frontend technologies or infrastructure and observability is considered a strong advantage, but not a requirement. Most importantly, you are motivated to learn the domain and grow together with the team.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives is valuable to us.
This Is Us
Team Lynx is one of the larger cross-functional development teams within SWS, consisting of developers and testers working closely together in a collaborative and supportive environment. The team plays a central role within the SWS ecosystem, with many integrations and collaborations across Scania and the wider TRATON organization.
We work as one team, sharing both successes and setbacks. We believe in helping each other, learning together and improving continuously rather than working as isolated individuals.
We work in an agile, value-stream oriented setup inspired by SAFe and Scrum. Our way of working is iterative and improvement-oriented: we plan, try things out, evaluate the result and adjust together.
The culture within the team is built around collaboration, continuous learning and shared ownership. We believe in pragmatic improvements and in creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas and helping each other succeed.
The domain itself is both broad and technically advanced, covering cloud services, backend systems, workshop tooling, internal development and test-related systems, and vehicle communication. At the same time, the work remains close to the end user — the solutions we build are used every day by workshop technicians in real operational environments.
Joining Team Lynx means becoming part of a team that values collaboration, curiosity and long-term growth, while working on technology that has a direct impact on workshop operations across Scania and the broader TRATON organization.
Within TRATON Group R&D, you are an important part of something bigger. Joining us means gaining access to the ins and outs of the entire transportation industry.
