Role Summary

 
As a Business Area Strategist, you are an integral part of a Business Area team, working side by side with the Business Area Director to help turn strategic direction into tangible progress. You act as a key analytical and operational counterpart, helping to shape priorities, structure complex questions, and support fast, high-quality decision-making. Your work is closely connected to the ventures within the business area, supporting follow-up, progress tracking, and prioritisation across the portfolio. You help translate strategic opportunities into concrete plans, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to the business area’s work.

Job Responsibilities

 

In this role, you support both the strategic and operational development of your business area. 

 

You will:

 

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Business Area Director, providing analytical and operational support.
  • Help shape priorities, structure complex business questions, and enable high-quality decision-making.
  • Translate strategic opportunities into actionable plans by bringing structure, clarity, momentum to business area activities.
  • Conduct market research and internal analyses to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare and support decision-making processes, including Decision forums, Board discussions, Stakeholder alignment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Scania and venture companies to: Build alignment, Drive initiatives forward, Ensure progress against business area objectives and growth ambitions

You have several years of experience from strategy, consulting, business development, or similar roles, where analysis, decision support, and cross-functional collaboration have been central. You are used to managing multiple topics in parallel, communicating clearly with different stakeholders, and adapting your message to both senior and operational audiences. 

You care about quality, but you also care about progress. You take pride in creating clarity and structure, helping teams focus on what matters most, and contributing to outcomes that drive real business impact and growth.

 

Competences and experience we believe are important for this role:

 

  • +5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, business development or similar roles where analysis, decision support and cross-functional collaboration have been central. 
  • +2 years’ experience from a Tier 1 strategy consulting firm.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks in parallel. 
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, structured and effective in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build alignment across organizations and functions.
