System Developer
About us
We are a tight agile team working cross-functionally with changes all across the development cycle, ranging from idea to an official release, with everything from requirements to implementation and final Safety tests in a true vehicle.
The tasks span from pre-development and prototyping, through contributions to ongoing projects or analysis of field quality issues and rapid changes for addressing them.
Integrating platform- and application-SW deliveries from other teams and creating continuous, system-tested COO releases are among our recurring main responsibilities.
We value continuous improvements and an inventive work environment with a high degree of freedom. And we care for each other.
About our product
The Coordinator (COO) system is the central control unit in Scanias trucks & buses, deployed in each produced vehicle.
The COO reads and terminates the inputs from the driver such as the ignition key, buttons and pedals, as well as some other direct inputs and sensors connected, to create and distribute real-time signals and states to some consumers on vehicle level. COO also hosts real-time applications for several functions, such as sensor fusion, Advanced Emergency Braking and many ADAS- functions.
Additionally, the COO terminates the external diagnostics-interface of the vehicle (the OBD connector) and safeguards some legacy ECUs from direct external diagnostics access.
The position
We are now looking to strengthen our team with a system developer. In this role, you would work tightly with your colleagues, in all the phases of the software development. The work includes function specification and writing requirements, coding in C and test automation in Python. A small part is also within Matlab/Simulink. You will also take part in tests and investigations in test rigs and vehicles on our test track.
Your profile
You probably have a few years of experience in working with embedded real-time systems as a developer in C, as a test developer working with tests in Python and HIL, or in the interaction between hardware and software.
You love to work in a team, to support each other and to share struggles and success and you prefer to work with a product that has a real impact and matters to the customer. You feel excited and challenged to resolve technical problems whenever they arise and you like to laugh at work.
You have a B.Sc. or M.Sc in the field of embedded systems, mechatronics, computer science, electronics, or relevant work experience. However, your attitude, mindset, and personality are of equal importance.
At Scania, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles! We hire for attitude and train for skills.
What we offer
We can offer you a dynamic workplace with diverse and challenging tasks in a hybrid work setup, meaning you can work from home a few days a week if the job allows. We can also provide you with an individual development plan that you create together with your manager, so you can reach your goals and receive the right support along the way.
In addition to career and development opportunities, as an employee at Scania, we can offer you other benefits such as free training at Scania's health center Gröndal or wellness allowance, performance bonuses, occupational pension, flexible working hours, lunch at a reduced price, the opportunity for a staff car and much more. Scania also organizes several events throughout the year where family and friends are always welcome, which is usually highly appreciated by everyone. If you live in Stockholm, we also offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje with Scania Jobexpress.
