About the Position
As part of our growth ambitions, we are seeking for Segment Sales Manager – Marine to join Scania Power Solutions. Based at Scania’s site in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil, you will work in a hybrid model that combines on-site collaboration with remote work.
In this role, you will own the commercial development and profitable growth of Scania’s Marine business across Latin America and North America.
You will translate Scania’s global Marine strategy into regional business plans, commercial priorities, and targeted growth initiatives. By identifying local market opportunities and working closely with distributors, dealers, and key industry stakeholders, you will develop actionable business plans and ensure their effective execution to deliver sustainable growth and increased market share. You will also contribute to the continued development of Scania’s marine portfolio, including combustion engines, electrification solutions, and e-machines.
A key part of the challenge is to build and sustain trusted relationships across the marine value chain, including shipyards, customers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology partners, and other marine industry stakeholders. Through active engagement and collaboration, you will enhance Scania’s market presence, expand our network, and position Scania as the preferred partner for future marine solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial development of Scania’s Marine business across Latin America and North America.
- Identify and develop opportunities with local partners, from market plan through execution.
- Translate Scania’s global Marine strategy into clear regional priorities and actions.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with Scania marine distributors network, OEMs, shipyards, and key customers.
- Lead strategic negotiations and represent Scania across the marine industry.
- Align markets and functions to deliver profitable growth, increased market share, and long-term customer value.
Requirements and Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Commercial Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum five years of experience in commercial sales, business development, or technical sales within the Marine industry.
- Strong understanding of marine applications, products, equipment, engines, and related technical solutions, combined with solid knowledge of the Marine market and its key stakeholders.
- Proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations, managing strategic customer and partner relationships, and delivering measurable business results.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across functions, markets, and countries, supported by strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese language skills is additional advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally on frequent basis is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within Scania or the TRATON Group is considered an advantage.
- Postgraduate studies in Business Administration, Commercial Management, Business, Naval Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, extensive relevant experience demonstrating equivalent expertise.
- Proven commercial experience in the Marine industry, together with an understanding of electrification, electric propulsion, and e-machine solutions for marine applications.
- Previous experience in marine industrial environments or multinational companies.
