Technical Trainer
Role Summary
The main responsibility of a Trainer is to support Scania by delivering high quality training sessions, face to face or remotely. This is achieved by creating an engaging learning environment, inspiring, guiding and challenge the
trainees to develop their competences, skills and behaviours.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare training activity
- Ensure conditions are in place for the training
- Analyse target group
- Study course material
- Adapt material and training activities to learner group
- Prepare co-trainers and/or invited guest (speakers)
- Secure that all practicalities are in place facilities, equipment and other necessities (coffee, lunches etc.)
- Secure administration regarding learners
- Confirm training prerequisites are met
- Create/review the driving plan
Before start-up
- Ensure equipment works
- Set the stage by furnishing the room to fit the learning activity
- Conduct training activity, face to face (ILT = Instructor Led Training) and remotely (vILT = virtual ILT)
Starting up activity
- Inform about safety and evacuation (ILT)
- Create and maintain a safe learning environment
- Follow-up absent learners
- Verify that learning objectives are understood expectations
During activity
- Keep learners active and engaged
- Feedback and encourage learners
- Evaluate learning progress during training
- Adjust program to learners level of knowledge
- Challenge learners with probing questions
- Encourage learners own experiences and insights
- Coach and facilitate the learning experience
- Use a variety of pedagogical tools and methods
Finishing activity
- Ensure that all learning objectives are met
- Follow-up on expectations
- Follow up training activity
- Ensure training activities are followed up properly
- Evaluate training
- Feed-back from activity to Learning Developer/stakeholder
- Improve and update content
- Self-assess trainer performance
- Follow up learning application after suitable time
