Shape Scania’s Future in China
Scania is accelerating its transformation toward sustainable transports and China is a critical part of this journey. We are now looking for a Chief of Staff to Scania Group China (SGC) — a senior leadership role at the center of strategy, communications, sustainability and corporate engagement with our eco-system.
As a member of the SGC Management Team, you will act as a key strategic partner to the Executive Vice President SGC, ensuring that Scania’s long-term direction is translated into focused execution. You will play a central role in aligning strategy, operations and external positioning, while representing Scania in high-level interactions with governmental and corporate stakeholders.
What's in it For You
In this role, you will lead and coordinate a cross-functional organisation of approximately 50 professionals across Strategy & Governance, Legal & Compliance, Governmental Affairs and Corporate Relations.
As part of your responsibility, you will lead the development and implementation of a “Strategic Cockpit concept” for SGC, enabling fact based decision making, early insights and strong alignment between daily operations and long term strategy. You will ensure that SGC operates with robust governance and compliance frameworks, while also safeguarding critical licenses and regulatory adherence.
A significant part of your responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with governmental entities and policymakers, bringing real-time policy intelligence into the business and influencing key decisions that shape the transport ecosystem in China.
You will also drive Scania’s sustainability agenda, ensuring it remains both ambitious and business relevant, while aligning internal and external corporate communications to strengthen Scania’s position in the market.
In parallel, you will support long term business development and ensure effective collaboration across Scania and TRATON, balancing synergies with the need to protect Scania’s brand identity.
What You Bring
You have extensive leadership experience with exposure to areas such as strategy, governance, public affairs or legal in international and matrix organizations, including environments with multiple strong entities and both functional and operational steering.
You bring a strong strategic mindset and the ability to understand complex systems beyond individual functions. You are a structured and confident leader who can drive change and transformation in complex environments, while building trust across diverse stakeholders. In your leadership you actively leverage diversity to build high performing, effective teams.
Furthermore you operate with a strong business orientation and are comfortable working at the intersection of business and society. You have the credibility, presence and communication skills to represent Scania at senior levels, including delivering clear and impactful messages in high profile settings.
Commercial and industrial experience is preferable and experience from automotive industry collaboration is a merit. An in depth understanding of Scania’s business model and Scania Way is a strong merit, as is familiarity with the broader TRATON context.
You are fluent in English, Mandarin is a strong advantage.
Why This Role?
This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of strategy, policy and business, shaping Scania’s long-term role in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
You will work closely with senior leadership, influence critical decisions and contribute to building the future of sustainable transport.
If you’re looking for a role with real strategic impact and external influence, we would be glad to connect.
