Credit Underwriter, Scania Credit
Scania Credit (SCA), a captive Financial Services entity, provides end customer financing and insurance solutions for Middle East, West African and Central Asia markets. In addition, SCA´s factoring solution offers extended payment terms to non-captive dealers, supporting sales of Scania products and services, globally.
The Head Office and market support-centre of SCA is based in Södertälje, supporting the local markets with governance, management, strategical development, credit risk function, contract administration and IT systems. Currently we are in total 50 employees, whereof 35 in Södertälje, managing a portfolio of about 300 MEUR of assets at 10+ markets.
We are a versatile team consisting of 6 team members with different backgrounds and experiences. The Credit Risk department is responsible for credit underwriting, collection control, credit risk analysis and continuous development of processes and systems in cooperation with other functions within the company. We work from Scania Credit’s offices in Södertälje, where our modern work environments offer flexible solutions such as project areas, quiet rooms and a lounge for coffee breaks.

In your role you will work with the Credit Risk Team, cross-functionally with other departments and in close cooperation with other Scania Business Units. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Credit Risk Department.
Job responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to work in the daily credit underwriting process, reviewing credit
applications for new and existing customers.
The role will include the following tasks:
- Work with documentation of routines and processes in the Credit Risk Department
- Perform assessment of the cases submitted for the credit decision
- Make recommendations on securities and collaterals
- Check, discuss best structure and present the final form for credit decisions
- Revision of credit applications according to the Credit Policy framework
- Guarantee compliance with Credit Policy and other active steering documentation
- Make credit decisions in accordance to SCA Credit mandates together with recommendations for all deals above own mandate level to Head of Credit Risk Department and Managing Director
- Credit ratings analysis and approvals
- Support in other underwriting related activities
- Support in GRC framework implementation
- Support other departments in Credit Risk related topics
- Back testing of credit decisions
- Active participation in Credit Risk related projects
Who you are:
- Structured and analytical
- Eager and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Fluent in English (fluency in Swedish is preferred)
- University degree preferably in business or economics
- Working experience within financial sector (minimum 2 years)
- Flexibility and professional attitude
- Ability to work both in a team and independently
