Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.
Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.
Role Summary
In these exciting times, we are looking for someone who is motivated to take on an interesting and challenging role. You will be one of two HR Privacy Officers supporting Scania People & Culture with HR‑related privacy matters, working at the intersection of privacy and information security.
As a Privacy Officer, you will be a member of the Scania Privacy Forum, which brings together the Group Data Protection Officer, privacy specialists, all privacy officers, in‑house counsel and information security. In this forum, you contribute as a subject‑matter expert and play an active role in ongoing discussions and initiatives.
The role offers strong opportunities to develop and shape ways of working, both within the Privacy Officer function in People & Culture and across the wider Scania Privacy Forum.
Job Responsibilities
As an HR Privacy Officer, you will play a key role in safeguarding people data while enabling the business to work efficiently, responsibly and in compliance with evolving regulations. Your key responsibilities include:
Privacy Governance & GDPR Compliance
- Own and operationalise data privacy governance within HR and people data.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and applicable data protection legislation.
- Establish, maintain and monitor privacy policies, DPIAs, records of processing and data subject rights processes.
- Support projects and initiatives to ensure ongoing GDPR compliance.
Data Processing & Agreements
- Create and maintain Scania’s records of processing activities for personal data.
- Implement and maintain data processing and data transfer agreements, including collaboration with Scania and TRATON entities.
Information Security & Risk
- Lead Information Security Risk & Assurance (IRAM) within the HR domain.
- Identify, assess and mitigate information security risks; maintain risk registers, controls and assurance activities.
- Report risks to management and follow up on mitigation actions.
AI & Emerging Regulation
- Support the business in understanding, preparing for and implementing AI Act requirements.
- Contribute to responsible and compliant use of AI in HR and people‑related processes.
Advisory, Incidents & Audit
- Provide expert support in personal data incidents and breach management.
- Act as a senior advisor to leadership on regulatory exposure, audit readiness and security posture.
- Represent HR in internal and external audits and in interactions with supervisory authorities.
Privacy & Security by Design
- Embed privacy and security by design in HR data ecosystems.
- Partner with IT, Legal and business stakeholders on secure architecture, access governance, third‑party risk management and lifecycle controls for sensitive employee data.
- Benchmark best practices and monitor new legislation, ensuring insights are communicated and applied.
Who You Are
You have solid experience working with privacy and GDPR, and while experience in information security is a plus, a strong interest and willingness to deepen your knowledge in this area is equally valuable.
Experience from HR, compliance, audit, or employment law is considered an advantage and helps you navigate complex people‑related data contexts with confidence.
You are a clear and effective communicator who can explain complex regulatory or technical topics in a way that is easy to understand — regardless of audience. You are comfortable working in English; additional languages are a plus.
As a person, you thrive in bringing structure where it is missing, while also respecting and further developing established ways of working. You are resilient, pragmatic and solution‑oriented, with a strong ability to balance integrity, quality and regulatory requirements with business needs and timelines. You take pride in providing reliable, timely support while keeping the organisation’s goals firmly in focus.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds – your unique experience and perspectives are valuable to us.
