Thesis work: 30 hp - LCA, Life Cycle Analysis, of cable harnesses for future recommendations

Degree project is an excellent way to get closer contact with TRATON and build relationships for the future. Many of today's employees began their TRATON careers with their degree projects.

 Background

The electrical system is a vital part of the vehicle, and to support this the cable harnesses stretch as an integral, neural network over the complete vehicle.

Objective
The purpose of this thesis project is to do a LCA, Life Cycle Analysis of typical cable harnesses. The aim is to cover the life from production of ingoing components, assembly of complete cable harnesses and vehicles, transportation, customer usage and the affect after the end of life of the vehicle, in order to analyse the most contributing areas for the LCA.

Job description
The work is an LCA for cable harnesses – clarify current situation and recommendation for future improvements and actions.

Education
Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent. The degree project is aimed at students with knowledge corresponding to specializations such as Integrated Product Development, Environmental and Sustainability, Vehicle Technology or similar. Industrial Economics

Number of students: 2
Individual application or in pairs. Preferably with profiles from both specializations in the areas of integrated product development and Environmental and Sustainability engineering.

Start date: January 2026

Estimated time: 20 weeks (30 credits).
