Technician

Role Summary

The main responsibility of the Technician is to perform high quality maintenance and repairs on Scania products. Satisfied customers, on time delivery and safety at work is achieved by following defined processes, standards and guidelines. The Technician contributes to customer satisfaction, Scania’s profitability and safety on our roads.

Job Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Repair 

Carry out maintenance and repair tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete the allocated tasks.

 

Resolving Customer Issues

Respond to basic customer issues, such as returns, and escalate issues appropriately.

 

Operational Compliance

Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.

 

Product/Service Information

Provide basic product/service information and respond to basic customer questions about the product/service.

 

Work Scheduling and Allocation

Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.

 

Health, Safety, and Environment

Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.

 

Product Demos

Use a predefined script to demonstrate the most basic features/attributes of the product/service.

 

Personal Capability Building

Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.

Skills & Competencies

Clear understanding of repair and maintenance concepts.

Troubleshooting Capabilities.

Ability to use instructions and documentation, especially the use of software and information technology to accomplish work. 

Up to date understanding of the heavy vehicle industry, products and services. 

Safety, Health & Environment - Demonstrate a clear understanding for the importance of safety and health policies, procedures and regulations in daily work.

Experience

Heavy vehicle technician, equivalent experience of 5 years and above with the requisite qualification. 

Education

Technical School (NVTI) as a minimum. 

Tertiary Education is an added advantage.
