Logistic Coordinator
Role Summary
The main responsibility of this role is to manage the process between the ordering of vehicles and the delivery of them to the customer, and to provide support for the sales team. This is achieved by working in a structured methodical way adhering to defined processes and procedures. Organisational skills are essential as many activities are deadline driven. Focusing on communication with internal and external customers and suppliers, whilst conveying a positive Scania brand image, is the key to fulfilling this role efficiently. To proactively drive and control logistics flow of the vehicles order to delivery process and related administration functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Ordering and registration administration – Oversee procedures for order, registration and connected activities are followed also manage these procedures when applicable.
- Delivery Planning and Coordination – Provide support as part of the sales team to ensure the smooth, efficient, and accurate preparation for delivery of vehicles to specific deadlines.
- Logistics Management – Oversee logistical activities including insurance, transports, PDI etc.
- Work according to the Scania Way (SRS) – Understand and act according to the Scania Way Frame work.
- Truck stock management
- Receiving of new trucks from factory at branch
- Managing of outwork – PDI/ Diesel / Hydraulic fitment / Decal fitment / Tracking fitment – liaising with all responsible parties for job completion
- Ensuring that all work on truck completed & done properly according to Sales reps request
- Arranging of truck deliveries to customer and arranging drivers for delivery
- Arranging 21 day permits for each truck delivery – completed correctly and fitted to truck
- Assisting with vehicle registrations
- Demo stock management – checking in / out of vehicles – ensuring that vehicles are in the correct conditions
- Assisting in downloading of demo reports from C300 system
Applicants must meet these minimum requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Business knowledge and experience from a similar role will be an advantage
- Experience in driving and (Code 14 licence) - advantageous
- 1- 2 years Commercial sales administrative/logistics experience advantageous
