Manager - Business Controlling
Role Summary
The Head of Business Control is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the business and its value drivers, and for translating financial and operational data into actionable insights. The role focuses on analysing business processes and financial results to actively support management decision‑making, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability. The position acts as a strategic partner to business management by providing forward‑looking analysis, performance monitoring, and recommendations that drive sustainable financial performance and process optimisation across the organisation.
The Head of Business Control is responsible for leading, developing, and inspiring the Business Control team in line with Scania Leadership Principles and The Scania Way. The manager is responsible for building and sustaining a strong, collaborative, and high‑performing team environment, where employees are empowered to take ownership of their responsibilities and actively contribute to business development.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Business Control team to deliver high‑quality, timely outputs, ensuring business continuity and supporting sustainable business growth.
- Act as a trusted finance business partner and advisor to the executive team and senior management, providing insight to influence strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business model, operations, markets, and key value and performance drivers.
- Translate business strategy into clear financial targets, KPIs, and actionable plans aligned with long‑term value creation.
- Drive and oversee budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and long‑range planning processes, including follow‑up on key initiatives and outcomes.
- Analyse financial performance, business processes, and variances to identify risks, opportunities, inefficiencies, and improvement areas.
- Provide high‑quality decision support through robust financial analysis, scenario modelling, profitability assessments, and business cases.
- Challenge assumptions, investments, and commercial decisions to ensure optimal capital allocation and return on investment.
- Monitor performance against targets and KPIs, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely corrective actions.
- Drive efficiency improvements and cost optimisation initiatives across the organisation.
- Lead and coordinate control operations within the area of responsibility, ensuring consistency and alignment with group standards.
- Support external and internal audit processes
- Support Group reporting requirements together with the finance team
- Ensure digitalization and automatization development of processes and procedures
Applicants must meet these minimum requirements:
- Relevant Education and equivalent work experience
- Business Acumen and experience from a similar role an advantage
- Managerial and Leadership experience advantageous
- Fluent in English
