Scania Australia is seeking an experienced and inspiring Dealer Director to lead our Western Australian Retail business. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic thinker who excels in building high‑performing teams, delivering strong commercial outcomes, and fostering an exceptional customer experience.

 

As Dealer Director, you will take ownership of the dealership’s operational performance, team culture, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability. You’ll lead a motivated workforce, champion continuous improvement, and help position Scania as the industry leader in sustainable transport solutions.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director and playing a key role in the Australian Management Team, this role holds full responsibility for the success and growth of the WA retail operation.

Job Responsibilities

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Lead the development and execution of the Market and Business Plan for WA.
  • Manage and grow the profitability of Scania’s WA operations in line with customer needs and business targets.
  • Oversee retail sales and services, including budgets, forecasts, and performance monitoring.
  • Set and communicate targets for volumes, pricing, profitability, and product mix.
  • Build a strong, customer‑focused and results‑driven culture across the dealership.
  • Strengthen Scania’s brand presence and sustainability leadership with key stakeholders.
  • Champion standardised work methods and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Ensure resources, capability, and structure meet current and future business demands.

  • You are a confident and collaborative leader with the ability to influence, motivate, and deliver results. You also bring:
  • Strong experience in retail operations.
  • A proven leadership track record, aligned with Scania’s values.
  • Experience in dealer and service operations, ideally within a service‑intensive environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, with a flexible and solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Strong commercial acumen across complex sales involving services, vehicles, and finance.
  • The ability to translate strategy into clear goals and operational actions.
  • Experience leading organisation‑wide change initiatives.
  • A talent for building and maintaining trusted internal and external relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, ensuring clarity and connection across all levels.
