Development Engineer

Scania, together with the TRATON group, is transforming from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to a provider of complete and sustainable transport solutions. As part of this journey, we are seeking a Development Engineer to join our Autonomous Logging team. This role offers a unique opportunity of being at the heart of real-time data collection for our autonomous vehicles, enabling data-driven operations for all our customers.
Your Role:
You will work with a diverse group of experts from various cultures and backgrounds. The team is responsible for all onboard data collection for the TRATON group autonomous vehicles. We employ agile methodologies and are deeply committed to innovation and excellence in autonomous transport solutions.
As a Development Engineer, you will, together with the team, enable a critical component of the autonomous system, i.e., develop and maintain software and tools to enable real-time platform data collection and offloading to our data lakehouse. Among other things, you will process, encode, and record high volumes of data from multiple data streams and formats; you will leverage optimal data storage solutions; create robust APIs; and design analytics and their visualization for the data collection solution.
Your Profile:
We like people who are team players, attentive and humble with the ability to drive the technical development forward. You have technical experience in the areas of software development, computer science, or a relevant related field. The requirements for the job are as follows:
- A B.Sc., M.Sc., or equivalent in computer science, electrical engineering, or a relevant related field;
- Knowledge and experience with Python and C++ along with a keen interest in programming;
- Knowledge and experience with Linux and industry-standard DevOps tools like Gitlab;
- Proficient in English, both in writing and in speech;
Extra meritorious is:
- Experience with Agile framework and methodology;
- Experience with containerizing and packaging software;
- Experience with hardware and software integration;
- Experience with AWS;
