Role Summary
This senior leadership role sits within TRATON Group Product Management and is based in Södertälje and serves as the strategic bridge between Group R&D and the Brands. Reporting directly to Head of GPM, you will define and drive the vision, strategy and roadmap for advanced software products and solutions that create customer value and long-term competitive advantage across the Group.
As Head of Group Product Portfolio Management – SDAT, you will lead the evolution of software product management capabilities across TRATON, enabling scalable, differentiated and commercially successful software offerings. You will play a key role in shaping the Group's software-defined future, with particular focus on advanced software platforms, connected services and autonomous technologies.
The role combines strategic product leadership, technology understanding and commercial acumen, requiring close collaboration with R&D, Brand leadership teams and Finance. You will be responsible for ensuring that software investments are aligned with customer needs, business priorities and TRATON's long-term strategic ambitions.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive the transformation of software product excellence across the TRATON Group.
- Build and lead modern software product management capabilities, teams and ways of working together with Group R&D and the Brands.
- Define and own the long-term vision, strategy and roadmap for software products, platforms and solutions.
- Prioritize investments and product roadmaps, balancing immediate business value with long-term platform and capability development.
- Act as the strategic interface between Group R&D and the Brands, ensuring alignment on priorities, customer needs and business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with R&D leadership to shape software strategy, technology direction and product architecture decisions.
- Establish development budget frameworks aligned with capability targets, business priorities and financial objectives.
- Partner with Commercial organizations and Group Finance to identify high-value customer segments, business models and monetization opportunities.
- Drive ROI-focused product portfolio and investment decisions based on customer impact and strategic value creation.
- Champion customer-centric product development by translating user needs and operational challenges into scalable software solutions.
- Align stakeholders across brands, functions and regions around software product strategy, priorities and execution plans.
- Foster a product culture focused on innovation, customer outcomes, measurable value and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
- A senior leader with extensive experience operating at the intersection of software product management, technology development and business strategy.
- 10+ years of leadership experience within software product management and R&D-driven software development organizations.
- Proven experience in advanced software development, software-defined products, connected services and/or autonomous technologies.
- Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with demonstrated ability to connect technology investments to customer value and business outcomes.
- A highly credible technical partner who can engage effectively with software engineering, architecture and R&D leadership teams.
- Experienced in leading organizational transformation and building high-performing teams in complex global environments.
- Passionate about customer-centric product development, innovation and creating measurable business impact.
- Comfortable operating across strategy, technology, business development and execution.
- Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across multiple organizations and brands.
- Strong analytical capabilities combined with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- An inspiring leader who creates clarity, builds trust and delivers results through others.
- Fluent in English; German and/or Swedish is expected.
