Regional IT Lead - Southern Europe

Role Summary

As TRATON Financial Services continues to expand its global footprint, the IT organization must evolve alongside the business to ensure technology remains a strategic enabler across all markets. To support this growth, six IT Regional Lead positions will be introduced within the global IT organization, each reporting directly to the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO). One of these roles will be responsible for the Northern Europe region. We are open to candidates located in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria and Romania. Please expect app. 20% of international travels.

Acting as the regional IT leader, the IT Regional Lead will provide functional leadership to local market IT teams, driving collaboration, alignment, and the adoption of best practices across the region. The role combines strategy, operations, stakeholder management, governance, cybersecurity, vendor oversight, and transformation delivery. This position will play a key part in identifying synergies, optimizing resources, and ensuring the effective delivery of IT initiatives in support of both regional and global business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy - Translate global IT strategy into regional execution plans aligned with business goals.
  • Business Partnership - Act as the main IT partner for regional and market business leaders, ensuring technology supports growth, efficiency, and risk management.
  • Governance - Ensure compliance with global policies, cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
  • Budget & Cost Control - Oversee market IT budgets, cost optimization, forecasting, and investment prioritization.
  • Transformation - Lead digitalization, automation, cloud adoption, system modernization, and process improvement initiatives.
  • People Leadership – Steer market IT teams, capability development, performance, and succession planning.
  • Risk & Security - Support markets in cyber resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, access controls, and data protection.
  • Vendor Management – Steer regional technology vendors, outsourcing partners, SLAs, contracts, and escalations.
  • Change Management - Drive adoption of new tools, systems, processes, and operating models across the region.

Who you are

  • 10-15 years of professional experience in a corporate environment, with a strong track record of delivering business and technology outcomes.
  • University degree together with fluent English.
  • Solid hands-on IT background, with expertise across IT operations, software solutions, and/or data processing environments.
  • Recent experience supporting and executing global IT strategies and business transformations within group and/or matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to drive change, solve complex challenges, and navigate dynamic business environments with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, including at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed and remote teams, fostering collaboration and alignment across multiple locations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across business and IT functions.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify synergies, promote best practices, and drive standardization across markets and regions.
