Solution Architect for the Commercial AI and Data Office

At the Commercial AI and Data Office at Scania Sales & Marketing, we have four missions; The first one is to provide a common Data and AI foundation for Scania from a commercial perspective, the second is to accelerate Data, Analytics and AI adoption across the Scania business by building and operating AI and Data solutions. The third mission is to drive the transformation of Scania into an AI and Data-driven company, giving expertise and hands-on support in building AI and Data solutions, driving data standardization, navigating laws and regulation, and set best practice and way of working with AI architecture and Data Mesh. Finally, we have a fourth mission, which is to structure, quality assure and automate our Master Data cross Scania, for optimized and aligned analytical utilization. 

Now, we are looking for a Solution Architect to join one of the teams at the Commercial AI and Data Office. 
 

Role Summary 

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our Commercial AI and Data Foundation team. You will be responsible for creating architectural blueprints that ensure performance, security, cost, reliability, and sustainability from an architectural perspective. You will support a data-driven approach and take a holistic view of our systems throughout Scania’s commercial functions. Your primary focus will be on supporting the translation of the data and AI architecture vision and needs into concrete applications, integration, and infrastructure patterns, ensuring that our solutions are secure, scalable, and deployable. An important part of the job is to harmonize the system landscape from an AI and Data perspective. You will also coordinate with architects across networks and business functions, collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications. 

 

 

 

Job responsibilities 

  • Architectural recommendations: Make architectural recommendations based on performance, security, cost, reliability, and sustainability, supporting a data-driven approach and taking a holistic view. 

  • Turn the data blueprint into deployable designs: Translate the data architecture vision into concrete application, integration, and infrastructure patterns, focusing on security, scalability, and deployability. 

  • Align solutions with enterprise standards: Ensure that our architectural designs follow standards, group policies, and guardrails. Ensure solutions comply with regulations, including access control, auditing, and life cycle management. 

  • Oversee reusable reference implementations: Guide the creation of code templates, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Set and aligns non-functional requirements: Optimize performance, scalability, and availability. 

  • Mediate cross networks: Coordinate with architects across networks and business functions. 

 

Who you are 

You are an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in designing robust architectures for different applications. You have proven experience in making architectural decisions and translating data architecture visions into concrete applications, integrations, and infrastructure patterns, with a focus on security, scalability, and deployability. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is required, along with data streaming technologies such as Kafka. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is a plus. 

As a strong communicator and collaborator, you can coordinate with architects across networks and business functions. You are confident in working effectively with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and blueprints, along with providing mentorship and guidance.
