We are searching for a Senior Strategy Manager to join our strategy team and contribute to building, shaping and accelerating our work in exploring emerging business opportunities and scale them into successful businesses. The strategy department shapes the long-term direction of Ventures and New Business, ensuring alignment with overarching Scania goals and vision.

As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving and supporting the development of strategies that integrate organizational targets with innovative and forward-looking initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to delivering Scania’s strategic ambitions.

 

To manage this role, in this very high pase and challenging area, you need to be flexible, pragmatic and solution oriented. You have excellent execution skills, with the combination of analytical and strategic thinking. You have a proactive mindset with a keen interest in driving organizational success through strategic innovation.

 

The role reports to Markus van Horik, Head of Strategy at Ventures and New Business.   

 

Main responsibilities

You are expected to perform a wide range of tasks, moving from strategic work to operational execution, depending on the business need. Some examples of your responsibilities are: 

 

  • Assist in shaping the overarching strategy for Ventures and New Business by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to define and refine strategic goals, targets, and initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
  • Evaluate emerging industry trends and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare regular reporting and updates for internal stakeholders
  • Lead specific workstreams or support key initiatives within Ventures and New Business.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of strategic plans
  • Manage or support strategic projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.

 

Who You Are

You are strategic and commercially driven, with a proven track record of success in similar roles. You are a team player that has an excellent business background and a good understanding of our industry.

 

  • You possess a relevant academic background (e.g., MBA or equivalent) and extensive experience in business strategy, with a history of leading high-impact initiatives across multiple industries, preferably in top-tier consulting or corporate strategy roles.
  • You have a profound understanding of the broader industry ecosystem, including regulatory, technological, and market dynamics that shape transport and logistics.
  • You proactively track and analyze emerging trends, demonstrating a keen ability to anticipate disruptive innovations and their implications for the industry.
  • You are an exceptional communicator and thought leader, with the ability to articulate complex ideas at the executive level and influence key stakeholders.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to cultivate and leverage strategic partnerships, driving long-term business value and competitive advantage.
