Role Summary

At Scania, a System Owner is responsible for the system deliveries and the interface design to particular systems. Handle the system requirements and system documentation and define the requirements on the system given top level requirements from user functions, legal department, surrounding hardware as well as safety and security demands. Work with the definition of the ECU interfaces such as CAN, Diagnostic protocols and configuration parameters. Follow up deliveries and test results and make sure to deliver the correct software to vehicle integration test and production.

Job Responsibilities

As a system owner in our department, you need to handle several systems depending on the business needs. In collaboration with engineers in the systems engineering team in Shanghai, you will bring value to the product by effectively combining the technical solutions between Shanghai and Södertälje. This would require good time management skills due to the time difference.

Who You Are

You are an engineer who thrives in abstract complex problems into a holistic technical solution. You enjoy designing embedded features and are motivated by working in a fast-changing, international environment.

What we look for:

• Strong experience in automotive embedded system design
• Comprehensive understanding of safety critical vehicle systems and corresponding safety design principles
• Experience with developing system concepts, requirements and specifications
• Understanding of Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols
• Understanding Vehicle diagnostics
• Good Communication skills and team spirit

• Familiar with Polarion (or other requirements system), Jira
• Familiar with Vector tools, CANalyzer, CANoe etc

Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub in China with the capacity to produce some 50 000 vehicles per year. Alongside building a new factory and an expansion of the sales network, we will also establish R&D Competence for China. Our mission in R&D Industrial Operations Asia is to develop trucks specially adapted for the Chinese market, the biggest commercial vehicle market in the world. This requires many new systems and functions to be developed, tested, and introduced.

This global R&D team consists of colleagues based both in Sweden and China, with a wide range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds. You’ll be joining the IO Asia Sweden part, driving the product development forward.
