Role Summary
This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden
We are looking at finding new talent to our team of system owners to meet the future challenges in the automotive industry. The system owners have a central part in forming and developing future powertrains for all brands in the Traton group. We need to supply industry leading performance and functionality to keep our position as leader in the heavy-duty market.
To stay ahead of the competition, we need to continuously improve our product, development environment, tools and methods. The improvements we are making to our systems will have a large positive impact on the global environment over the next few decades.
Job Responsibilities
As a member of the system owner team, you are responsible for one or more of our control system variants. This means for example
- Being first point of contact for any questions from aftermarket, production, other electrical systems in the vehicle and internal developers.
- Supporting in problem solving and investigation of issues that arise in our systems.
- Follow up that internal and external requirements are handled by the organization
As a system owner, you ensure that development of the system is carried out correctly and that the system can be described in an overall way for various stakeholders inside and outside Scania to enable production and service.
As this is a very comprehensive system for both hardware and software including wide interfaces, we work in very close collaboration with other groups and roles in engine and electrical system development.
The work is varied and stimulating and provides great opportunities for competence development, creates important experiences, product knowledge and provides a broad network within large parts of Scania. This guarantees very good future career opportunities both within and outside the powertrain control system domain.
Who You Are
We are looking for an engineer with a Master of Science degree or with equivalent knowledge in embedded systems or engine control. You have good communication and collaboration skills, are structured and self-sufficient. You are good at leading and following up technical work in a large organization and in an international environment.
The domain is technically complex and developed to the best performance and standards on the market. The systems in this domain are key to function, performance and environmental impact of our products and an engineering background or strong engineering interest is expected.
You are fluent in both written and spoken English (Swedish is meriting).
This Is Us
In the Engine System SW group (TGRPSSS) we own the complete system and have roles for safety and security for the Engine and Aftertreatment Control, which are one of Scania’s most advanced real-time control systems. Our team consists of experienced and outgoing people, with different cultural and educational backgrounds, as we see strength in diversity. We prioritize personal development, helpfulness, and collaboration in the team.
Within TRATON Group R&D, you are an important part of something bigger. Joining us means gaining access to the ins and outs of the entire transportation industry.
