Background:
Aeroacoustics noise forms a large part of vehicle noise especially for heavy vehicles. TRATON group continuously works with improvement of vehicle properties through most efficient development methods. In order to minimize the generation of aero acoustic noise, it is important to understand the predictive capacities of both test and simulations methods. This will also allow the group to investigate various solutions for minimizing aero acoustic noise.
Goal:
The goal of this project to investigate methods for reliable prediction of aero-acoustic noise and use the methods to predict acoustic performance of vehicle components.
Assignment:
This will be an open ended assignment for which the thesis worker will define the direction and goals in collaboration with the thesis supervisor. A tentative assignment plan can look as follows
- Literature study of aero acoustic calculation and test methods.
- Investigation into efficiency and applicability of above methods to different test cases.
- Review of aero acoustic solutions from literature/market.
- Investigate solutions using the test and/or simulation methods
Education:
Masters student with focus on Acoustics, Engineering mechanics or similar fields.
