Thesis work 30hp- Latency measurement in multi-threaded driver display application

Introduction:

Thesis work is an excellent way to get closer to Traton Group and build relationships for the future. Many of today's employees began their Traton journey with their degree project.

Background:

The instrument cluster of a Scania truck is driven by a complex HMI application. It is designed to aggregate the information coming from multitude systems operating in the truck and to provide it to the driver. It is written in C++, runs on QNX operating system and is based on the Adaptive Autosar architecture. The applications is operating in a multi-threaded context which makes latency measurement a challenging task.

Objective:

Develop a system capable of measuring the latency between user defined events in multi-threaded context.

Job description:

Latency measurement is crucial in a system that is designed to collect and provide data to the driver in a safety relevant context such as the operation of a heavy duty vehicle. The developed system must provide an analysis of different timing events such as time between a notification trigger arriving on the application’s input and the actual notification being displayed to the driver.

Timing between the different threads of the application. Study and analysis of the Adaptive Autosar framework and the QNX RTOS and developing a solution to integrate the tools and methods they provide into a robust timing and latency measurement solution.
