Role Summary
We are looking for a Property Owner for Passive Safety to join our Cab Durability and Crash simulation unit at Traton R&D in Södertälje. As the transport industry undergoes a major transformation—driven by sustainability, electrification, and autonomy—our group plays a key role in shaping the vehicles of tomorrow.
Our team is responsible for finite element (FE) strength and fatigue simulations of the cab as well as complete vehicle crash simulations. In addition, we are responsible for the vehicle property Passive Safety. This means, among others, to set demands on our trucks to ensure that our drivers and passengers have the safest possible working environment and that other road users are protected in case a crash with our trucks is unavoidable. This responsibility is extremely important right now with the upcoming EuroNCAP Safer truck testing programme launch. With us, you will have a key role in developing future Scania products while also improving existing ones.
Job Responsibilities
The role of a property owner is cross-functional and refers to the complete vehicle. You are responsible for driving the property management work and are the driving force for target setting and validation in our development projects. You will work in close collaboration with crash simulation and testing as well as with Product Property Manager for Safety.
Your key tasks include:
· You deliver and communicate targets for Passive safety when starting pre-development and development projects.
· You develop and update load cases and targets for passive safety based on e.g., statistics, experiences from the field, benchmarking and new regulations in collaboration with the Product Property Manager
· You deliver status reports of current situation and forecast regarding passive safety
· You support Product Property manager with your expertise in Passive safety
· You are an communicative expert in the field of passive safety, you inform and educate in the field
Who You Are
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and high-level expertise in passive safety.
· You have excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing, and are used to formulate targets and requirements.
· You have excellent collaboration skills, you respect the needs of other vehicle properties and design and seek for solutions in collaboration with other experts.
· You have an MSc or PhD degree in mechanical or automotive engineering or in a similar field.
· A minimum of five years of experience in passive safety and crash simulations, testing or similar in the automotive industry is require.
