Accountant for LOTS Group

LOTS Group is a fully owned subsidiary of Scania offering integrated logistics services. Since 2019, the Group has grown to a global company, offering Transport as a Service (TaaS) where LOTS owns, operates, and optimizes transport flows for transport buyers. Now, we are leveraging our experience and Scania heritage to scale our full logistics solution, providing a 4PL service, helping customers achieve transparency and control in their supply chains and transition to greener and more cost-efficient solutions.

The services are built on four pillars – adoption of Scania’s Lean methodology, pioneering new technology, customer-specific solutions, and leading safe, sustainable, and compliant solutions. The objective is to build out Scania’s commercial and operational capabilities to prepare for a future where new technology will challenge Scania’s current business model.

Overview:

At LOTS, the Finance & Controlling Department leads the financial planning processes as well as monitors the execution and fulfillment of the company’s business strategy. The department works in close integration with the management team.  We are now looking for an accountant to strengthen the reporting and accounting procedures together with our accounting service providers world-wide; today situated in Europe and the Americas.

 

The Position:

As an accountant at LOTS, you would play a key role in the reporting and accounting procedures. You will be working in our Swedish entity, which holds both our global HQ function, as well as our fast-growing European logistics business area.

Your responsibilities will initially be based on seniority and experience, but our aim is to quickly see the accounting role grow to take full responsibility of the Swedish entity’s books, with support from the Global Accounting Manager (GAM), Business Controlling function and the CFO. We also expect you to lead/ support in developing our function and reporting structure to meet the new emerging CSRD requirements, which will come in force in 2025. 

You will report to the Group CFO and be part of a team of 4 finance professionals working on Group level. For everyday tasks, you will be working closely with the GAM who will support, supervise and are responsible for the overall group reporting. The GAM will also conduct group wide projects in which you are expected to actively participate.

You need to be comfortable working closely with key finance stakeholders as the role will occasionally require synching with suppliers.

The position is based at the LOTS Stockholm office, located in close vicinity to the central station. However, LOTS applies a hybrid workplace model with the flexibility to work from home a few days a week depending on tasks and in agreement with manager.

 

 

Examples of work duties:

  • Daily bookkeeping, AP/ AR
  • Book closing activities, monthly, quarterly, and yearly
  • Contribute to LOTS Group monthly financial reporting
  • Provide accounting support to operations
  • Actively participate in Group level projects and on occasion be the project lead
  • Reporting HR-stats for the global organization until new CSRD-requirements comes.

 

The Candidate:

You like the fact that the company is young, with an entrepreneurial culture and ambitious colleagues. We believe that you have at least one to three years of previous experience from working as an accountant taking part in month end, yearend closing and reporting in an ERP-system. Good communication skills are important as we area global organization working across borders with many different nationalities, cultures and languages.

 

The Requirements:

• Bachelors level degree in relevant area or accountant degree

• Possess a high proficiency in MS Office Software - most critically Excel

• Structured and detail oriented, but also able to see the bigger picture

• Minimum language proficiency requirement:  fluent in Swedish and Englis

• Previous experience of ERP systems (preferably Oracle NetSuite, Hyperion or SAP)

• Project management
