Supplier Escalation Specialist
As a Supplier Escalation Specialist, you are a troubleshooter, project manager, and strategist all in one, playing a key role in resolving supplier capacity issues. In this position, you combine strategic insight with hands-on problem-solving and you will frequently travel to suppliers worldwide. You will be reporting to Scania procurement in Sweden, but your base of operations is at Scania Logistics in Zwolle. Moving forward together towards a common goal. As a Supplier Escalation Specialist, you come into action whenever there are current or potential capacity constraints at suppliers that could impact Scania’s production or spare parts center. You serve as the first point of contact, coordinate necessary actions, and ensure the implementation of solutions. Through your strategic and hands-on approach, you prevent supply chain disruptions and optimize supplier reliability on a global scale. With your determined mindset, you are the right person for this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- analyzing supplier capacity issues, identifying root causes, and determining possible solutions;
- coordinating escalations between suppliers and internal stakeholders within purchasing, logistics, and production;
- visiting suppliers worldwide to initiate improvement actions and follow up on implementations;
- making critical decisions in urgent situations and ensuring swift, effective solutions to prevent production disruptions;
- initiating meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to discuss root causes and solutions for escalations;
- reporting to the procurement department in Sweden and contributing to strategic capacity improvements.

About Scania Logistics Zwolle and Hasselt
Here, we ensure the efficient supply of materials to all Scania production units. Our operations are managed from Zwolle and Hasselt. What makes our organization unique? We continuously adapt to changes in our field while operating on an international scale. You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions and processes, keeping both the company’s and our customers’ needs at the heart of our value chain. You will be working within the Capacity & Risk Management department, alongside approximately 10 colleagues in the Netherlands and 15 in Sweden.
Your talents
With your international experience and knowledge of logistics and production processes within the automotive industry, you quickly identify the core of issues and challenges. Your strong personality, natural charisma, and decisive analytical approach make you a valued discussion partner for Scania Global and our suppliers. In urgent situations, you are the one who makes crucial decisions. Production disruptions have a significant impact, and in these situations, you can provide immediate solutions while also proposing effective long-term strategies. This role offers you a great degree of freedom and responsibility, including frequent (often ad hoc) travel to suppliers both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, you have:
- a completed bachelor's degree (in Logistics, Business Administration, or Automotive);
- at least three years of experience in international supply chain coordination;
- knowledge of production and logistics processes;
- strong communication skills in both English and Dutch.
